What It Is

Why It Matters

Urine pH can indicate metabolic conditions, kidney stone risk, and urinary tract infections.

If Levels Are High

Alkaline urine may suggest a urinary tract infection, renal tubular acidosis, or a vegetarian diet.

If Levels Are Low

Acidic urine may indicate metabolic acidosis, diabetes, or a high-protein diet.
